What to Know About Badrinath

Badrinath, a sacred town in Uttarakhand, is a key part of the Char Dham Yatra, which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. It is home to the famous Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, attracting thousands of devotees every year. Nestled at an altitude of 3,100 meters, Badrinath is surrounded by the Garhwal Himalayas and the Alaknanda River. Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the temple is accessible for only six months a year, as winters bring heavy snowfall.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Badrinath is between May and October. The temple remains closed from October/November to April due to extreme weather conditions.

Badrinath Temple

Vasudhara Falls

Located 10 km from Badrinath, this magnificent waterfall cascades from a height of 122 meters. The trek leading to it is rewarding with breathtaking views.

Hot Springs (Tapt Kund, Surya Kund, and Narada Kund)

These natural thermal springs are revered by devotees. Tapt Kund is known for its healing properties, while Narada Kund is believed to be where the idol of Lord Vishnu was discovered.
